Our Thesis
Neighborhoods are the unit of change.
San Francisco's civic institutions operate at the city level. Its communities live at the neighborhood level. This mismatch — between where policy is made and where life is experienced — leaves neighborhoods without the data, the partnerships, or the coordinated programming they need to thrive.
PartnerSF exists to close that gap. We build structured partnerships between the private sector, city agencies, and local communities — and we deliver evidence-informed programming at the scale where it matters most: the neighborhood.
Our Operating Model
Three units. One integrated cycle.
Each unit reinforces the others: the Collective webs the neighborhood together, Insights generates the evidence, and Activations delivers the programming. The cycle compounds, creating sustained neighborhood impact.
Collective
The connective tissue of San Francisco's neighborhoods. Small businesses, enterprises, schools, artists, leaders, and city agencies — woven together through PartnerSF's infrastructure into a functioning fabric of neighborhood collaboration.
Explore02Insights
Original, neighborhood-level research on economic health and community wellbeing. We produce the data that San Francisco's neighborhoods need to advocate for themselves — with evidence, not anecdote.
Explore03Activations
Projects, programs, and events — from infrastructure initiatives to neighborhood campaigns — designed in response to Insights research and delivered through the Collective. Every activation is traceable to evidence and accountable to outcomes.
ExploreMarina & Presidio Community Benefit District
PartnerSF is leading the formation of a Community Benefit District in the Marina and Presidio neighborhoods — a property-owner-funded mechanism authorized under California law that delivers enhanced services: cleaner corridors, safer public spaces, economic development programming, and coordinated community investment.
San Francisco's 16 existing CBDs collectively invest over $32 million annually and sustain more than 320 neighborhood-level jobs. We intend to build the next one.

Get Involved
This work requires partners.
PartnerSF is built on the principle that no single sector — public, private, or civic — can strengthen a neighborhood alone. We invite organizations and individuals who share that conviction to join us.
